MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University women's volleyball team took North Greenville University to five sets, defeating the Trailblazers 3-2 on Saturday afternoon in the Hawks Athletic Center.
Chowan would secure the first set 26-24, as North Greenville would take the next 25-17. The Hawks would then take the third set 25-23, while the trailblazers would secure the fourth 25-20, forcing a five set match.
The Hawks would take control of the fifth set with nine kills, with Rosa Lynn Collier closing out the game with three back-to-back kills to secure the win.
Andrea Krgovic would break her career-high with a game-high 54 assists to set up the Chowan attack. Alexa Fricker recorded a team-high 15 kills to lead the Hawks.

Alexa Fricker would have a double-double with 18 digs and 15 kills. Madison Henderson recorded 13 kills, two solo blocks, one block assist, while Collier had 12 kills, eight digs, three block assists, one solo block, and an assist. Jada Cauthers posted 10 kills, seven digs, three solo blocks, and two block assists, as Alanna Verme recorded eight kills and three digs.
Anna Holcome posted 22 digs and six assists, as Brooke Hart also collected 22 digs, two service aces, and an assist.
Krogovic added 15 digs to her career-high 54 dig performance. Kennedy Mills added eight digs to round out the defensive effort.
The Hawks led the Trailblazers in all categories but blocks. Chowan put up 80 points to North Greenville's 76, 65 kills to the Trailblazers 58, 105 digs to their 91, 63 assists to their 51, and five service aces to their four.
