Box Score PETERSBURG, VA- The Chowan University baseball team remained alive in the CIAA Tournament on Thursday evening after topping St. Augustine's University 13-4 to earn a spot in the semifinals.  The Hawks will take on the loser of the Virginia State/Winston-Salem State semifinal contest.  The Trojans and Rams meet at 11:00am, with the Hawks taking the field at 2:00pm on the campus of Virginia State University.  
The Falcons end their season with an 18-28 overall record on the year.  
The Hawks got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with 
Ryan Moore's RBI single, 
Josh Catalano's sacrifice fly to center and a passed ball to take a 3-0 lead.  
John Hunter's RBI double in the fifth resulted in an additional run for Chowan before a five-run fifth inning extend the Hawks' lead to 9-0.  
Blake Leebrick's fielder's choice and 
Colby Wiggins' RBI single pushed Chowan ahead 11-0 in the seventh.  The Falcons plated a run in the top of the eighth using Darren Burks' sacrifice fly.  Chowan answered with two more runs in their half of the frame after 
Blake Eure's RBI single and a fielder's choice, which resulted in a 13-1 lead for the Hawks.  
St. Augustine's scored three runs in the top of the ninth, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.  
Tyler Burden, Moore, and Wiggins each had two hits for the Hawks while Leebrick led the effort with three hits in the win.     
Moore also picked up the win on the mound for the Hawks.  Chowan advanced to the semifinals with Thursday's win.
