MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Norfolk State University on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks move to 11-6 on the season while the Spartans improve to 6-5.
Norfolk State swept the Hawks in both doubles and singles play to earn the victory.

Sasha Kirsanov suffered an 8-3 setback. Heading into Wednesday's match, Hajizada/Doubograev had won nine straight doubles matches while Aiala/Galovic and Kirsanov/Martin were both riding a four-match doubles win streak.
Hajizada, Aiala, Martin, Kirsanov, Doubograev and Galovic all fell to their opponents in doubles play. Hajizada moves to 15-2 on the season in singles play after falling to Dzmitry Zhymantovich in tiebreaker. Martin saw a five-straight win streak in singles play come to an end with the 7-6, 6-4 loss.
The Hawks return to the court on Saturday when they host Randolph-Macon in a 2:00pm contest.
