MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's tennis team earned a critical CIAA Northern Division win on Thursday afternoon with an 8-1 victory over Virginia State University. The Hawks move to 8-5 on the year with the win and remain perfect with a 2-0 mark in league play. The Trojans drop to 3-3 with the setback and 1-3 in CIAA play.

Sasha Kirsanov topped K'wmane Tonkins/Delwin McCurdy 8-1 to give Chowan a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
Hajizada, Aiala, Martin, Doubograev and Galovic all earned victories in singles play to clinch the 8-1 win. Chowan returns to action on March 21
st when they take on Johnson C. Smith University in Raleigh, NC. The Hawks will return to their home court on March 23
rd in a 10:00 am match against Edinboro University.
