MURFREESBORO, NC- The Chowan University men's tennis team fell short in a 6-3 battle with West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday afternoon.  The Hawks even their record to 3-3 on the year after the loss while the Bobcats improve to 2-1-1.
 
Ivan Doubograev and Farid Hajizada were the lone victors for Chowan in doubles competition as they topped Jose Titonel/Timothy Stevens 9-7.  Pinol Izquierdo/Aitor Reparaz topped Pedro Aiala/Danilo Galovic 8-2 while Sasha Kirsanov and Tristan Martin dropped an 8-4 decision to Nathan Savil/Jacobo Rendon. 
 
In singles play, Hajizada and Aiala defeated their opponents in singles play.  Martin, Kirsanov, Carlos Ramirez and Galovic each suffered setbacks to the Bobcats allowing West Virginia Wesleyan to earn the 6-3 victory. 
 
Chowan takes the court again on March 6^th when they host Virginia State on March 6^th at 3:00pm.
