Box Score AIKEN, SC- The Chowan University baseball team suffered their 17
th straight loss on Tuesday night with a 10-2 setback against USC Aiken. The Hawks will face the Pacers again on Wednesday evening in a 6:00pm contest.
USC Aiken used a solo homerun and a two-run blast in the bottom of the first to take a 3-0 lead over Chowan.
Tyler Burden tripled to start off the top of the fourth and scored on a wild pitch to put the Hawks on the board.
The Pacers plated two runs in their half of the frame using an RBI single to left field and a sacrifice fly. With a 5-1 lead in the home half of the fifth, USC Aiken tacked on two more runs with an RBI single and an error by the Hawks. The Pacers scored a run in the sixth, seventh and eighth inning using a sacrifice fly to right field, and center field along with a homerun.
Ryan Moore's RBI single to left field put an additional run on the board for the Hawks in the eighth inning but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
Burden,
Evan Holton, and Moore all collected two hits in the loss. Randy Luckett tallied three hits for the Pacers with TJ Costen and Ty Barkell notching two hits apiece.
Stephen Hux suffered the loss on the mound for the Hawks.
