MOUNT OLIVE, NC- The Chowan University men's tennis team fell 8-1 to the University of Mount Olive on Thursday afternoon.  The Hawks move to 3-2 with the loss while the Trojans improve to 5-1 with the victory. 
 
Doubles teams Farid Hajizada/Pedro Aiala and Tristan Martin/Sasha Kirsanov both fell 8-4 to their opponents to start out the match.  Ivan Doubograev/Danilo Galovic dropped an 8-3 decision to Stan Roffe/Brahm Moolman leaving the Hawks trailing 3-0 after doubles play. 
 
Hajizada earned the lone victory for Chowan in singles competition after topping Edgar Bub 6-2, 6-2.  Aiala, Martin, Kirsanov, Carlos Ramirez and Doubograev each suffered losses against their opponents in singles play, allowing the Trojans to earn the 8-1 victory. 
 
Chowan returns to action on March 2^nd when they host West Virginia Wesleyan.  The match is slated to begin at 2:00pm.
