MURFREESBORO - Chowan University's volleyball team improved to 10-5 overall after winning both matches at a trimatch with Lincoln University (PA) and North Greenville University. Chowan beat Lincoln in straight sets for a CIAA North Division win and downed North Greenville 3-1 in nonconference play. Chowan's Victoria Lewis tallied 29 kills in today's matches to help propel her team to the victories. 

Chowan beat Lincoln 25-12, 25-14, and 25-16 in the first match of the day. Lewis collected 14 kills and nine digs in the match. Callie Armistead had 15 assists while Charla Huhges collected 12 assists and two aces. 

Lewis pounded out 15 kills in the 3-1 win over North Greenville. The Hawks won with final set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-20, and 25-23. Karina Monroe had nine kills and four blocks while Antoinette McCollough collected eight kills. 

The Hawks (10-5, 8-1) will travel to Saint Pauls College on September 29th in their next outing.
