HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Chowan University volleyball team rounded out day two of the Coker Cobra Classic on Saturday morning against Valdosta State University. A match that would lead to a five set two-point difference. The Hawks would claim sets one and four, forcing a fifth set that would come to a 15-13 decision in favor of the Blazers.
Jada Caruthers would record a game high six blocks, as Andrea Krgovic would also lead all players with 44 assists. Anna Holcombe would add a game high of her own with 16 digs.
At the conclusion of the tournament one player from each of the six participating teams were named All-Tournament. Holcombe would earn recognition for Chowan as her consistency and reliability both offensively and defensively led the Hawks throughout the weekend.

Alanna Verme recorded 13 kills and seven digs, while teammate Rosa Lynn Collier close behind with 12 kills and four digs. Alexa Fricker had 11 kills, four digs and an assist and Jada Caruthers produced nine kills, six blocks, five digs, and a service ace. Andrea Krgovic tallied a match high 44 assists and 11 digs while Anna Holcombe collected 16 digs.

The Hawks will travel to Elizabeth City State for the Viking Classic that will feature four teams including the Hawks on Friday, September 4th through the 5th.
