Box Score MURFREESBORO - Despite scoring three runs in their final at-bat , the Hawks fell short in their comeback attempt with a 6-5 loss to North Greenville University this afternoon in the NCCAA South Region baseball tournament. The Hawks move to the loser's bracket where they will play Truett-McConnell College tomorrow morning at 10:00am.
The Hawks took an early 1-0 lead after their first at-bat but the Crusaders bounced back to take a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning. They added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth that proved to be enough to hang on to the 6-5 win.
Ryan Bradshaw started the game on the mound. He threw four innings, giving up five runs and striking out three batters. Robert Weaver and
John Atkins pitched in relief of Bradshaw.
The Hawks collected six hits in the game with
Justin Bagbey going 1-2 with a two-run homerun.
Nate Mitchell was 1-2 with a solo homerun.
