Box Score 2 MURFREESBORO - Chowan put together 32 hits over thirteen innings of play this afternoon to blow by Lincoln University with scores of 20-4 and 16-1. Chowan improves to 6-7-1 on the year after today's games while Lincoln remains winless at 0-6. The Hawks used today to gear up for a weekend series with Millersville University starting tomorrow afternoon.
Five players collected multiple hits in the 20-4 win.
Justin Bagbey led the way with four hits in six at-bats and two RBI. Mike Taylor went 3-3 with four runs scored while
Nate Mitchell knocked in five runs on two hits.
Justin Shockley was 2-3 and
Zac Caito collected four RBI's on a grandslam.
John Morris pitched for the win after throwing 4.1 innings, allowing five hits, and striking out three batters.
Spencer Fagan picked up the win in the nightcap. Fagan (1-0) pitched 4.0 innings, scattering three hits, and striking out four batters. His teammates helped at the plate with 16 hits. Shockley continued to hit in game two with three hits and two RBI along with Taylor who was 2-4 with three RBI.
Adam Capps and
Brandon Mack both tallied two hits in the game. Bagbey belted his fifth homerun of the year in game two.
Chowan (6-7-1) will host Millersville University Saturday and Sunday in a three-game series. The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 12:00pm. Sunday's single, nine inning game will be played at 12:00pm.
