Box Score AIKEN, SC - The baseball team dropped a 6-2 decision at the hands of USC-Aiken in non-conference baseball action this evening. Tonight's loss drops the Hawks to 7-12-1 on the year. Chowan held on to a narrow 2-1 lead but the Pacers used a three run 6th inning to get on top of Chowan and get the eventual 6-2 victory.
Chowan was held to seven hits in the game led by
Nate Mitchell who was 2-4 with a solo homerun and a double. He also scored both the Hawks runs inthe game.
Justin Bagbey was 1-2 with an RBI double.
The Hawks used six different pitchers in the game with Robert Weaver starting. He threw two innings before handing the ball to
Ryan Bradshaw.
Tyler King came on in the 5th and
Spencer Fagan was charged with the loss after giving up three runs on four hits while the Hawks held on to a lead over the Pacers.
Josh Powell and
Tyler Chelenza threw the final two innings respectively.
The Hawks will wrap up the two-game series with the Pacers tomorrow night at 6:00pm.
