MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University men's and women's tennis teams hosted Davis and Elkins College on Wednesday afternoon, continuing their tough week's playing schedule. The Chowan women dropped a close 4-3 decision to the Senators. The men battled with the Senators but also dropped a touch 4-3 decision.

WOMEN
The Hawks picked up singles wins at the #1 and #2 positions. Marcia Aragon picked up her fourth win in a row at the #1 spot with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Feidi Abreu Rodriguez secured a win at the #2 singles, finishing up 6-4, 6-1 over her opponent. Victoria Videla won in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 10-5 at the #6 singles position to give the Hawks another point. Davis and Elkins picked up the doubles point after taking the top two doubles seeds. Abreu Rodriguez and Videla paired up to take the #3 doubles match 6-2.
MEN
David De Simon and Maxsim Kachuk picked up a doubles win at the #2 seeded slot. Teammates Marcel Ungerbeock and Tadeo Missan secured the Hawks doubles point for the Hawks in the match with a 6-4 win at the #1 seeded position.
Marcel Ungerboeck dropped a tightly contested match in three sets at the #1 position while Thales Sette and David De Simon secured wins at the #2 and #3 seeded matches respectively. Sette battled out a three sets win, beating his opponent 6-3, 6-7, 7-6.
In the end, the Senators took four out of the six singles matches to pick up the narrow 4-3 win over the Hawks.
