GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team opened play in impressive fashion on Monday, finishing round one of the tournament in second place with a team score of 308 (+24) at Lakeside Park Country Club. The Hawks sit just behind Livingstone, who leads the field with a score of 297 (+13).

INSIDE THE SCORE CARDS
Jacob King led the charge for Chowan, carding a 74 (+3) to finish the day tied for third individually. His consistent round anchored a strong team performance that saw multiple Hawks in the top tier of the leaderboard.
Jacob Kearney followed closely with a 77 (+6) to tie for ninth, while both Matt Herberger and Tyler Darnell posted 78s (+7) to sit tied for 12th. BK Holt and Adam Lankford each shot 79 (+8), rounding out Chowan's top performers for the round.
Mika Buchholtz added an 81 (+10), and Justin Peterson finished with an 87 (+16) to complete the scoring for the Hawks.
Chowan finished the day ahead of Fayetteville State (+28) and Bluefield State (+31).
