SNOW HILL, N.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team sits atop the leaderboard after day one of the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship, hosted at Cutter Creek Golf Club from April 19-21. The Hawks hold first place following a strong opening round, highlighted by a standout performance from freshman Gabriel Ansley, who is tied for second overall after carding an even-par round of 72.
Chance Lassiter followed with an opening round of 73, while Bryce Koehler finished at 74, helping position the Hawks at the top of the standings after day one.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Gabriel Ansley sits in second place overall after opening with a birdie on the first hole and adding another on the seventh. He closed with a steady even-par back nine to post a 72.
Chance Lassiter delivered a strong round of 73, highlighted by a 35 on the back nine. He also recorded three birdies across both nines to finish tied for seventh on the leaderboard.
Bryce Koehler carded a 74 after posting a 35 on the back nine and tallying three birdies on the front nine. He added another birdie later in the round to finish tied for 15th overall.
Mika Buchholtz turned in a 76, with even splits across the front and back nine, placing him tied for 27th.
Harry Jones rounded out the Hawks' lineup with an 80, finishing the day tied for 55th.
