Herberger Leads as Hawks Climb to Ninth After Round Two

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team returned to action Monday afternoon for round two of the Conference Carolinas Men's Golf Championship in Spartanburg, S.C.

After wrapping up Sunday's opening round in 10th place, the Hawks moved up one spot to 9th after posting a 303 in round two. Their two-round total of 612 puts them just behind King University, who sits in 8th with a 306 for the day and a 609 overall, and Young Harris, currently in 7th after shooting a 302 on Monday to also total 609.

INSIDE THE SCORE CARDS

Leading the charge for the Hawks, Matthew Herberger moved up in the individual rankings to 16th after firing a 75 in round two, bringing his total to 151 heading into Tuesday's final round. Bjoern Holt also made a solid jump, climbing to 23rd with a second-round 74 for a two-day total of 152. Tyler Darnell posted a 76 on Monday, bringing his total to 153. Jacob King matched his first-round score with another 78 to sit at 156 overall, while Mika Buchholtz recorded a 79 in round two for a 157 total.

The Hawks will look to keep the momentum going as they tee off in the final round on Tuesday, April 15th at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, S.C.
