MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Throughout the 2024-2025 Chowan Athletic season, the Chowan Athletic Department will feature the Ace Hardware Student-Athletes of the Week.
For the week of March 21st - 27th, Mckenzie Misenheimer from the CU softball team and Justin Peterson from the golf team have earned honors for their efforts on their respective teams during the past week of play.

McKenzie Misenheimer has been named the Chowan Athletics Ace Hardware Player of the Week for her performance at the plate. In the Hawks' win over UNC Pembroke at Hawks Field, Misenheimer went 2-for-3, driving in two runs, scoring another, and stealing a base. She carried that momentum into game two, going 1-for-2 with two runs scored, two walks, and two more stolen bases. Her efforts led to a .600 batting average and a .741 on-base percentage for the day.
Justin Peterson | Sophomore | Golf | Murfreesboro, N.C. | Ridgecroft School
Sophomore golfer Justin Peterson has been named the Chowan Athletics Ace Hardware Player of the Week for his performance on the course. Peterson earned medalist honors with a round of 78, leading the Hawks to a 325-341 victory over the Apprentice School in a dual match at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
