PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team completed round one of the Pawleys Island Beach Bash, hosted by Ohio Dominican, at +10 as a team, good enough to finish round one in a tie for 4th place. The Hawks will aim to chip away at the overall lead (+1), held by #25 Wayne State University, as they head into the final round on Thursday morning.

INSIDE THE SCORE CARDS
The Hawks currently sit in a fourth-place tie with St. Thomas Aquinas out of the 15 schools competing. Ahead of them are #25 Wayne State at +1, #15 USC Beaufort at +3, #16 Gannon at +6.
Matthew Herberger leads the Chowan Hawks after round one with a score of 72, recording three birdies. Adam Lankford followed closely behind Herberger, with a 74 (+2), adding five birdies. Tyler Darnell shot a 75 (+3) with five birdies, while Mika Buchholtz posted a 77 with 5 birdies. Bjoern Holt finished with an 83 and Jacob King carded a first-round 84.
