MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University men's lacrosse team fell to 0-3 on the year after dropping a 17-8 decision to Coker University in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon. After getting down early in the first quarter, the Hawks battled back to get some offensive traction in the second quarter, but ultimately the Cobras offense was too much to overcome.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Chowan got down early in the match with Coker getting an early 7-1 lead after the first quarter. Chowan bounced back, picking up momentum in the second quarter with four goals and holding Coker to just one score. Coker held the Hawks scoreless in the third quarter and went on to score nine second half goals to Chowan's two to take the win.
The Hawks were paced offensively by
Treston Gatewood, who picked up a hat-trick with three goals in the match.
Seth Mackenzie and
Jacob Malia each added two goals. Malia also dished out two assists and Mackenize added an assist.
Rocco Smith had 15 saves in goal for the Hawks.
