MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Following week five of fall sports competition, Conference Carolinas announced its Volleyball Player and Specialist of the Week honors on Monday afternoon. Chowan's Diana Rodriguez earned Specialist of the Week recognition after delivering three consecutive standout performances during last weeks games, posting season- and match-high numbers in digs. The Player of the Week accolade was awarded to Emmanuel University.

SPECIALIST OF THE WEEK 
Diana Rodriguez | Chowan | Libero/Defensive Specialist | Senior | Tijuana, Mexico
Rodriguez had a big week in the back row for Chowan, averaging 8.08 digs per set in three matches. She posted a season-high 41 digs in a five-set match against Barton before posting 35 digs in three sets against Young Harris. She closed the week with 21 digs in four sets against Shorter. Rodriguez leads the conference in digs with 334 on the season.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK 
Ellie Jackson | Emmanuel | Outside Hitter | Junior | Jacksonville, Florida
Jackson averaged 4.21 kills and 2.86 digs per set in three Lion Conference Carolinas wins a week ago. She also posted three double-doubles and registered a .351 attack percentage, making only six errors on 151 attempts. She opened the week with 20 kills against one error, 12 digs and seven aces in a four-set win over Erskine. She then added 24 kills and 15 digs in a five-set win at Mount Olive before closing the week with 15 kills and 13 digs in a five-set win at Barton.
