BIRMINGHAM, ALA. – The Gulf South Conference and Football Coaches announced the 2024 All-Conference and Annual awards on Thursday afternoon.
Wide Receiver Jakobe Lane earned recognition as a First Team All-GSC selection, while Gabrial Jackson and Kennypride Toh were honored with spots on the Second Team All-GSC. Under Head Coach Paul Johnson, the Hawks finished the season with a 3-7 record overall and a 2-5 mark in GSC play, a significant improvement from their winless campaign in 2023. With a renewed sense of momentum, the team is focused on building even stronger during the offseason, preparing for their transition to Conference Carolinas in the 2025 season.
Jakobe Lane wrapped up the season ranked 2nd in the GSC for receiving, hauling in 64 catches for 755 yards and four touchdowns. His performance earned him a spot at 46th in NCAA Division II for receiving yards. Lane averaged 11.8 yards per catch, with a long reception of 44 yards, and posted averages of 6.4 catches and 75.5 yards per game.
Gabrial Jackson, the Hawks' top tight end this season, tallied 29 receptions for 359 yards and two touchdowns. His longest catch was 37 yards, averaging 12.4 yards per reception. Jackson earned Second Team All-GSC honors for his efforts and finished 15th in the GSC for receiving yards.
Kennypride Toh, a linebacker for the Hawks, led the GSC in tackles this season with 41 solo tackles, 47 assists, and a total of 88 tackles, averaging 8.8 tackles per game and adding one sack. His performance earned him Second Team All-GSC honors, and he also ranks 29th in NCAA Division II for total tackles.
