RALEIGH, N.C. - The Chowan University men's and women's swim teams picked up another mid-season swim on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks were hosted in a double dual by William Peace University at the NC State Willis R. Casey Aquatics Center. The Hawks men's swimming team edged the Pacers for a dual meet win but fell to Barton College while the Hawks women were edged out by both the Pacers and the Bulldogs.

CU's
Robert Cabrera picked up at win in the 50 yard freestyle event after touching the wall at 21.34, edging out Barton's Ethan Robinson (21.65). In event 15,
Lina Danna posted a time of 58.71 in the 100 yard freestyle for the event win. Cabrera posted his second event win of the meet after posting a time of 47.14 in the men's 100 yard freestyle. Danna finished four seconds off the first touch by Barton to claim 2nd place in the 500 yard freestyle. On the men's side, CU's
Dimitrije Markovic claimed the top finish in the 500 yard free after touching the wall at 5:12.34, a full 21 seconds faster than any other swimmer in the event.
Elettra Dalcerri picked up a top spot win in the 100 yard butterfly with a wall touch of 54.98.
Aleksei Belolipetskii edged out Barton's Nattan Mometto to claim the top spot in the 200 IM with a wall touch of 2:01.39.
Aislinn Kessinger,
Ariana Vizcaya, Danna, and Dalcerri were narrowly beat out in the 200 free relay to close the meet out. The quad touched the wall at 1:47.99, just .06 off the top time by Barton.
Cabrera, Belolipetskii,
Jose Medina, and Christian Olega posted a second place finish in the 200 free with a finishing time of 1:33.02.
