MURFREESBORO, N.C. – Feidi Abreu Rodriguez and Selene Kentish will represent their country and the Chowan Tennis program at the Billie Jean King Cup, formerly known as the Fed Cup.
The Federation Cup was the original iteration of the global extravaganza and was first contested in June 1963, creating a ground-breaking platform which granted women deserved opportunity and exposure within tennis and beyond. This year marks the 60th year of the event.
Feidi Abreu Rodriguez will represent her home country of the Dominican Republic, ranked #63. Rodriguez will take to the courts July 24-29 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Dominican Republic is in the Americas II group with the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Selene Kentish will represent Antigua & Barbuda in Americas III group. Kentish takes to the courts July 17-22 in Panama City, Panama as Antigua & Barbuda will be in the group with Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Cuba, El Salvador, Jamaica, Panama, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
