HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Chowan University women's tennis battled back from a 1-0 deficit to take a 4-3 win over the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in day one action at the Hilton Head Spring Break Tennis Clash. 

The Hawks picked up four out of six singles matches to take the match 4-3.

INSIDE THE RESULTS 

Marcia Aragon continued with her win streak at the #1 singles spot after an easy 6-0, 6-1 win. The singles win marked her fifth consecutive win at that position this season. Feidi Abreu Rodriguez won the #2 singles match 6-0, 6-1 for her third singles match win in a row. Aime Vera secured a three sets win in the #3 singles match (5-7, 6-3, 10-5) while Victoria Videla battled through a three set match to pick up the #5 singles match, and the eventual team win, at 6-2, 5-7, 10-4.

The Hawks will continue play in the Hilton Head Spring Break Tennis Fest with a match against Thomas More University on Sunday, March 8th at 3:30 PM. All matches are being played at the Vandermeer Tennis Center in Hilton Head.
