Box Score 2 FERRUM, V.A. - The Chowan University men's and women's tennis teams traveled to Ferrum College on Wednesday where each team picked up a Conference Carolinas win. The Chowan University women's team picked up a 5-2 win while the men's team surged to a 5-2 victory. Today's sweep of Ferrum marked both program's first Conference Carolinas wins of the 2026 season.

WOMEN
The women rolled to a 5-2 win over the Panthers. Chowan picked up the doubles point with a 6-1 #2 seeded doubles match win for Feidi Abreu Rodriguez and Victoria Videla and a defaulted #3 doubles match win for Aime Vera and Felicitas Grillo.
Chowan went on to claim wins at the #3, #4, #5, and #6 seeded matches to take the 5-2 win. Janna Lerma won the #3 seeded match 6-1 and 6-0 while Videla continued her winning streak with a 6-0, 6-0 win at the #4 seeded match. Diva Datta beat her opponent 6-0, 6-0 to win the #5 seed and Isabella Turner picked up a win at the #6 seed by default.
MEN
The Chowan men's team improved to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas play after beating Ferrum 5-2 on Wednesday afternoon. The Hawks swept doubles play for the point heading into singles play. Marcel Ungerboeck and Tadeo Missan teamed up to claim the #1 doubles match 6-3 while David De Simon and Teramusa Inoue took the #2 doubles match 7-5. Thales Sette and Tadeo Sanchez picked up a 6-3 win at the #3 doubles position.
Ungerboeck win on to win in three sets over his opponent in the #1 singles position. He won 6-3, 7-6, and 6-3. De Simon beat his opponent in the #3 singles match, 6-2, 6-3 while Missan and Sanchez rounded out the singles wins at the #5 and #6 singles matches. Missan beat his opponent in three sets, 5-7, 6-2, 10-5 while Sanchez won 6-1, 6-2.
UP NEXT
The Hawks will continue with Conference Carolinas play with back-to-back matches this weekend. The Hawks will host Shorter University on Friday at 2:00pm. At 1:30pm, Chowan University will have a short court memorial to honor the Rose Family. The Rose Family have been long time supporters of the Chowan University tennis program. On Saturday the Hawks will host Emmanuel College at 11:00am at the Rose Family Tennis Complex.
