GOLDSBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Golf team fired off a pair of season-best rounds in the opening two rounds of The Trojan on Monday afternoon at Walnut Creek CC.

Chowan started off The Trojan with a season-best round of 302 before taking four strokes off in the second round to produce another season-best round of 298, tied for sixth best in program history. It was the first time since 2017 that the Hawks shot lower than 300.
Jaxon Eck started the Hawks off strong with a 71 (-1) in the opening round. The 71 was Eck's best round of the season and lowest for Chowan this season. The round of 71 is also the tied for sixth lowest in program history. Eck posted six birdies in round one before finishing with three birdies in round two on his way to a 74 (+2). Eck is tied for 10th in the tournament.
Mika Buchholtz started his day with a 77 before finishing with a career-best round of 72 to end the day. Buchholtz tallied four birdies on the day.
Tyler Darnell posted a round of 75-77 (five birdies) as Patrick Sullivan rounded out the scoring with 79-75 (two birdies).
Ruben Gamez-Aranda posted 81-92 for the Hawks. Adam Lankford and Bryce Simms are playing as individuals carding 77-87 and 84-80 respectively.
