MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team dropped a pair of contests to Conference Carolinas foe on Saturday to Francis Marion.

Tyler West led the Hawks with three hits and a home run. Jackson Dunlap, Patrick Krack, Caleb Karie and Dallas Trevena tallied two hits each.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game Two: Chowan 5, Francis Marion 20
Francis Marion opened the scoring with two runs in the first before scoring seven runs in the fourth to lead 9-0.
Chowan tallied two runs in the bottom of the fourth as Caleb Karie singled to right before coming around to score on a base high-chopper on the infield by Aidan Palacious and an overthrow. Ethan Whelan drew a walk prior to Ben Bausas bringing home a run on a sacrifice fly to cut the deficit to 9-2.
FMU scored eight runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to lead 20-2.
In the bottom of the seventh, Ben Bausas reached on an error and moved to second on a wild pitch. Patrick Krack drew a walk before Tyler West hit a home run to left center.
Game Three: Chowan 1, Francis Marion 17
The Patriots opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the top of the first.
Tyler West and Caleb Karie picked up singles and Patrick Krack drew a walk to load the bases before the end of the inning.
FMU added a run in the third, fourth, and fifth innings to lead 5-0. The Patriots scored 12 runs in the top of the ninth to extend their lead to 17-0.
Chowan would get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the ninth as Christian Allen led off the inning by a hit by pitch. Ben Bausas singled before a bloop single by Joshua James brought home Allen for the lone tally.
