MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Baseball team dropped the doubleheader against North Greenville in the series on Saturday.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORES
Dallas Trevena, Patrick Krack, Caleb Karie, and Ty Johnson picked up two hits each. Tyler West hit a home run in the night cap. Christian Allen went 1-1 with three walks in the nightcap.
Shane Rademacher took the loss in game two tossing 7.0 innings allowing three runs (two earned) off six hits and six strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game Two: Chowan 1, North Greenville 3
North Greenville took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning as a throwing miscue to start the double-play allowed runners on the corners. A wild pitch allowed the opening run to scamper home.
The Crusaders added a run in the top of the fourth inning on a pair of hits to lead 2-0.
Chowan rallied in the bottom of the fourth as Tyler West drew a walk to start the inning. Patrick Krack picked up a single. West moved up 90 feet as the ball slipped out of the catcher's hand on the throw back to the pitcher. Emanuel Betancourt hit a sacrifice fly to score West to cut the deficit to 2-1. The rally would end on a pair of strikeouts.
Emanuel Betancourt tried to spark a rally in the sixth inning with a two-out double but was left stranded.
NGU added an insurance run in the seventh to lead 3-1.
Justin Winslow started off the bottom of the seventh with a single to right before swiping second and third. Winslow would be left stranded at third.
Game Three: Chowan 8, North Greenville 24
NGU used three hits and an error to open the scoring with three runs in the first inning. Tyler West cut into the deficit with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning.
The Crusaders found gaps in the second inning to plate five runs off five hits in the inning to lead 8-1. NGU extended their lead to 18-1 after scoring in the third and fourth innings.
Chowan posted two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning as Christian Allen drew a walk to lead-off the inning. Ryan Bellamy had a single to center before Caleb Karie singled to left to load the bases. Ty Johnson singled down the right field line to plate a pair, 18-3.
The Hawks would cut into the deficit in the fifth to trail 20-7. Patrick Krack reached on an infield single for the lone hit in the inning as NGU committed a pair of errors along with walks by Noah Cartwright and Christian Allen.
James Cottingham picked up a double followed by a single by Landon Oughton to plate a run in the sixth inning.
NGU finished off the scoring to take the 24-8 series victory.
