WILSON, N.C. – Dallas Trevena and Tyler West hit a home run but was not enough as the Chowan Baseball team dropped the series finale in the Conference Carolinas opener against Barton on Sunday afternoon.

Dallas Trevena went 1-3 on the day with two RBI, a home run, and a walk. Tyler West went 1-4 with a home run and two RBI. Ryan Bellamy and Ty Johnson picked up one hit.
Caleb Peterson allowed two hits in two innings in relief.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Barton scored the opening run of the contest as the Bulldogs led off the first inning with a double and a sac fly. A solo home run in the second allowed Barton to lead 2-0.
Chowan rallied in the third inning as Ty Johnson singled with one-out to spark the rally. Dallas Trevena evened the score with a two-run home run down the left field line. Patrick Krack was hit by a pitch before Tyler West handed the Hawks a 4-2 lead with a two-run home run to left.
The Bulldogs scratched across a run in the bottom of the third inning on a fielder's choice following a pair of walks and a single, 4-3.
Barton took the lead in the bottom of the seventh as a pair of extra base hits pushed the runs across.

Chowan travels back to Wilson next weekend to compete in the Wilson Tobs Classic taking on Frostburg State and Mid-Atlantic Christian.
