Hawks Swimming Dives Into Early Season Competition

GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Swimming program started the season on the road against Division I opponents East Carolina and Campbell along with Conference Carolinas foe Barton on Friday evening.

THE RESULTS

200 Medley Relay:

The women placed seventh overall with a time of 1:58.77.  The men finished third overall with a time of 1:49.39.

500 Free:

Jan Gastal posted the fifth fastest time in program history touching the wall at 5:10.28 for third place.

100 Free:

Alexey Belolipetskiy broke the school record after finishing first in the event with a time of 47.83.

Aislinn Kessinger posted the 10th best time in program history with an eighth-place finish after touching the wall at 58.15.

50 Back:

Erica Mock posted the third fastest time in program history with a time of 30.91.  Andrew Simmons would set the school record in the event with a time of 28.66.  Christian Oleaga finished behind Simmons with a time of 29.00.

100 Fly:

Ashley Mayes finished with a time of 1:02.06, while Fabrizio Infante touched second to finish with a time of 53.73 to move to fourth best in program history.

200 Free:

Atar Idrissi and Briana Wilson finished with times of 2:15.01 and 2:17.79 respectively.  Jan Gastal touched the wall second with a time of 1:47.94 to post the sixth best time in program history.

50 Free:

David Clark would finish third in the event with a time of 23.58.  Aislinn Kessinger finished with a time of 26.48.

100 Back:

Erica Mock finished with a time of 1:08.40 in the event.  Andrew Simmons (1:01.70) and Christian Oleaga (1:02.60) swam for the Hawks.

100 Breast:

Alexey Belolipetskiy posted the fourth fastest time in program history with a time of 1:00.33 to finish first in the event.  Marshall Stevens finished with a time of 1:10.62.

Hiba Laknit posted the sixth fastest time in program history after touching the wall with a time of 1:13.00.  Arriel Quant finished with a time of 1:23.51. 

200 Free Relay:

The men posted the top time in the event with a time of 1:28.41 led by Alexey Belolipetskiy, David Clark, Fabrizio Infante, and Jan Gastal.

The women would finish with a time of 1:49.29.

UP NEXT

Chowan hits the road to compete at Converse in a tri-match against the Valkyries and Mars Hill on October 22 in Spartanburg.
