HICKORY, N.C. – The Chowan Men's Golf team improved by double-digit strokes on the opening day of the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational on Monday.

INSIDE THE SCORECARDS
Ruben Gomez-Aranda led the Hawks with a 78 in the opening round before firing off his career-best round in the second round with an even par 72. Gomez-Aranda picked up three birdies in the opening round before notching five in the final round.
Tyler Darnell started off his tournament with an 80 picking up two birdies before wrapping up the opening day with a 79.
Patrick Sullivan posted a round of 83 before improving four strokes in round two with a 79. Bryce Simms posted rounds of 84-83 to round out the scoring for the Hawks.
Jaxon Eck shot 89-84 as Adam Lankford (playing as an individual) shot 87-85.

Chowan returns to the course on Tuesday, October 25 for the third and final round.
