MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Tennis teams will travel to Florence, South Carolina on Saturday for a weekend clash against Francis Marion.

HAWKS HIGHLIGHTS 

The Chowan women enter with a 2-2 overall record following their loss to Division I Elon, last Sunday. The team's last win came against Mary Baldwin on February 25 when they picked up a 9-0 sweep of the Fighting Squirrels on the road.   Stephanie Fernandez and Margarita Lopareva are 2-1 on the season in singles action.

The men enter with a 1-3 record on the season.  The Hawks lone win of the season came on February 25 when they picked up a 7-2 road victory over Mary Baldwin. The duo of Santino Jose Sormani and Dragan Omcikus picked up a commanding 8-0 win in the No. 1 doubles position. Sormani, Omcikus, Timofey Tokmakov, Francisco Salvatori each won their singles match in straight sets 6-0, 6-0 to propel the Hawks to a 7-2 win. 

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS

The Francis Marion women are 5-2 on the year after taking a 6-1 win against Bluefield State. The men are 3-3 on the season winning two out of their last three after a close loss to Bluefield St., 4-3 last Saturday.
