Women's Tennis
Chowan will open up their spring schedule after competing at the N.C. Wesleyan Invitational in the fall.
The Hawks return Arina Karbolina and Julieta Lecce from last season. Margarita Lopareva joins the team as a transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast CC.
Margarita Lopareva went 3-0 during the fall to secure the "B" draw at the N.C. Wesleyan Invitational. Arina Karbolina and Julieta Lecce both went 3-1.
Men's Tennis
The Hawks opened the spring season with a loss to No. 40 Christopher Newport on the road over the weekend. CU battled tough against the strong opponent as Santino Jose Sormani took his nationally ranked opponent into a third set.
Dragan Omcikus took a tough loss falling 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 singles.
THE TROJANS
Mount Olive was selected to win the Conference Carolinas in the Women's Tennis Preseason Poll. The Trojans are 3-2 thus far this season and comes off a loss to Wingate over the weekend.
On the men's side, the Trojans are 2-4 on the season and have lost their last four matches after starting 2-0. The men were also picked to win the Conference Carolinas in the Preseason Poll.
