MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Swimming teams split their double-dual meet with St. Andrews and Barton at home on Friday afternoon.

INSIDE THE LANES
400 Medley Relay:
The relay of Zorey Sargent, Julia Stegmaier, Jasmine Gibson, and Grace Arredondo started off the meet with a first place finish in the relay with a time of 4:50.54.
Taylor Woodard, Garrett Kirkland, Joshua Weidner, James Cameron finished third in the relay with a time of 4:23.43.
800 Free:
Atar Idrissi finished with a time of 10:46.00 for a third place finish. Marissa Mann and Keitra Lloyd finished with times of 11:03.09 and 11:13.20 respectively.
Igor Proszynski led the charge with a second place finish touching the wall at 9:01.56. Shaine Olmstead and Garrett Kirkland touched at 9:41.49 and 9:44.11.
200 Free:
Lucas Pels started his day strong with a first place finish with a time of 2:03.99, besting second place by nearly three seconds. Justin Lough finished fifth with a time of 2:09.06.
Julia Stegmaier touched the wall second in the event with a time of 2:18.58.
50 Free:
Ashley Hernandez led the way with a second place finish with a time of 29.50. Meghan Allen (30.61) and Kyndra Jackson (32.57) rounded out the scoring for the Hawks.
James Cameron edged out teammate David Clark with a time of 25.37 and 25.77 respectively. Joshua Weidner touched at 26.75.
200 IM:
Zorey Sargent missed out on a first place finish in the event being edged out by half a second with a time of 2:31.46. Erin Garza swam to a time of 2:53.55.
Kyle Sheridan finished with a time of 2:40.11.
100 Fly:
Jasmine Gibson earned a third place finish with a time of 1:15.40. Marissa Mann and Erin Garza recorded times of 1:19.81 and 1:20.52.
Taylor Woodard swam to a time of 1:02.59 for a second place finish, missing out on the top spot by .25.
100 Free:
Grace Arredondo picked up a second place finish with a time of 1:04.31. Lucas Pels added a fourth place finish for the men with a time of 56.91.
100 Back:
Ashley Hernandez added a third place finish to her tally with a time of 1:15.58. Keitra Lloyd earned fifth with a time of 1:18.94.
David Clark garnered a third place finish with a time of 1:04.80, while Taylor Woodard finished fifth with a time of 1:07.36.
400 Free:
Igor Proszynski picked up a huge victory in the event with a time of 4:19.17, six seconds ahead of the field. Shaine Olmstead edged out teammate Justin Lough by .11 of a second.
Atar Idrissi finished in second with a time of 5:05.48.
100 Breast:
Julia Stegmaier swam to a first place finish with a time of 1:19.25. Sarah Hull and Jeleah Delancy finished with times of 1:31.51 and 1:32.54 respectively.
Marshall Stevens picked up a second place finish with a time of 1:12.20.
400 Free Relay:
Chowan earned second and fourth place in the relay. Zorey Sargent, Atar Idrissi, Jasmine Gibson, and Grace Arredondo garnered second with a time of 4:20.91.
On the men's side, Chowan finished second overall with a time of 3:45.49. The relay consisted of David Clark, Justin Lough, Lucas Pels, and James Cameron.

Chowan returns to the water next weekend, as the Hawks host the second of three home events, as William Peace comes to town on Saturday, January 18. First event is scheduled for 2:00pm.
