MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Chowan Men's and Women's Lacrosse team host Newberry and Converse respectively in their home openers.
The women will take on Converse at 12pm in a Conference Carolinas contest, while the men will play Newberry in non-conference action at 3pm.

WOMEN'S LACROSSE HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan started off the season with a loss against Conference Carolinas preseason number two team, Mount Olive. The Hawks will have a new look this year as Nicolette Dungee takes over the program.
Misten White scored the lone goal for the Hawks in the contest. Jasmine Latney and Leslie Escobar will be looked to for scoring this season as well.
Tahvae Burton returns as an all-conference member from last season on the defensive side. Jordan Nicholson will look to improve off her stellar freshman season.
VALKYRIES NOTES
Converse dropped their season opener against Newberry to fall to 0-1 on the season.
Tyra Murray leads the Valkyries with three goals. Flore Samsi and Sharlize Burgos tallied two goals in the loss.
MEN'S LACROSSE HIGHLIGHTS
Chowan moved to 1-1 on the season after falling to Coker in non-conference action.
Alex Clabaugh leads the team with seven goals and three assists. Quintin Bender is second on the team with five goals.
WORRYING THE WOLVES
Newberry is 2-0 on the season after picking up the win against Shorter during the week.
Brady Kearnan leads the team with 14 goals and four assists. Dylan Mansur is second on the squad with eight goals.
