HARNESSING THE BRONCOS
Fayetteville State is 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in CIAA action coming off a victory against Elizabeth City State last weekend at the Down East Football Classic in Rocky Mount, N.C.

The Broncos are posting 41.3 points per game this season behind running back, Stevie Green.  Green had 367 rushing yards this season and four touchdowns.  The duo at quarterback of Richard Latimer and Collyn Anderson has accounted for 632 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception.  Tyeous Sharpe is their main receiver hauling in 18 receptions for 169 yards and three scores.

FSU takes care of the ball with only four turnovers while producing 13 takeaways.  The Broncos have fumbled the ball nine times this season but has only lost three of those.

In the redzone, Fayetteville State has scored on all but one attempt this season including 13-16 for touchdowns.

IN THE SERIES
This will be the 10th overall meeting between the Hawks and Broncos, with Fayetteville State holding the slight advantage 5-4.  The past three meetings have been decided by three or less points.  Miscues in the last two have led to losses for the Hawks as in 2017 a bobbled snap on the potential game-tying field goal leading to a 27-24 loss and in 2018 when the Broncos forced a safety and a fumble late in the fourth quarter in a 40-38 victory.

Chowan defeated Fayetteville State 14-13 in 2016 after leading 14-0 heading into the fourth quarter.  A failed PAT allowed the Hawks to escape with the win.
