This will be the Hawks' homecoming game. Chowan is 7-3 in their last 10 homecoming games and 2-1 against Elizabeth City State in such games. The two teams met in 2017 on homecoming in a 28-18 victory for the Hawks.

A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION

Deshaun Wethington is back after missing two games with an injury and has produced 299 rushing yards and three touchdowns in the past two games since returning. Wethington has 661 rushing yards this season in five games and six touchdowns.
The Hawks took better care of the ball against the Panthers with two turnovers while intercepting a pass.
The turning point came on the opening drives of the second half as VUU scored to open the third quarter and forced a turnover and later scored to take the lead 27-26. Following a pair of punts by the Hawks, VUU would score on both drives to put the Hawks down 41-26.
