MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Chowan Volleyball returns to action after a 12 day weather forced delay as the Hawks compete in the CIAA Round Up II hosted by Winston-Salem State. Chowan will face Winston-Salem State on Friday and wrap up the Round Up against Livingstone and Johnson C. Smith on Saturday.

HAWKS PROFILE
Chowan picked up their first wins of the season at the CIAA Round Up I against St. Augustine's and Fayetteville State. The Hawks would fall to Claflin (3-2) and then Shaw (3-0) in the final day of the Round Up.
Kayla Gates and
Breona Young lead the Hawks offensively with 37 kills each.
Milica Vejnovic sits in third with 35 kills. Young leads the team with 17.0 total blocks.
Micayala Pope leads the team with 143 assists on the early season.
Alyssa Born posts 82 digs on the season.
RUNNING WITH THE RAMS
Winston-Salem State is 4-10 on the season and 3-0 in the CIAA Southern Division. The Rams are coming off a straight sets loss to Belmont Abbey during the midweek. WSSU picked up wins against Lincoln (Pa.) and Bowie State in straight sets, while picking up a 3-2 win over Virginia Union.
Ytae Cobb leads the Rams with 133 kills. Gabrielle Azar leads the team with 152 digs.
CAGING THE BLUE BEARS
Livingstone enters the contest with a 2-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in the CIAA Southern Division. The Blue Bears went 2-1 in the first CIAA Round Up. Livingstone has dropped two contests against Johnson & Wales.
Victoria Onozie leads the team with 46 kills.
GOLDEN BULLS NOTES
Johnson C. Smith is on a five-match win streak after dropping their first four matches of the season to move to 5-4 overall. The Golden Bulls are 3-0 in CIAA action picking up wins against Bowie State, Lincoln (Pa.) and Virginia Union.
Taylor Smith and Gorana Bogdanovic leads JCSU with 64 and 63 kills respectively.
SERIES HISTORY
The Hawks and Winston-Salem State will meet for the 15th time in the series with both teams with seven wins each. The Rams have picked up the wins in the last four meetings including in the 2017 CIAA Volleyball Semifinals.
Chowan is 13-0 all-time against Livingstone and has won 39 of 40 sets. The Hawks are 11-0 all-time against Johnson C. Smith with Chowan taking 33 of 35 sets.
