Box Score FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Chowan Women's Tennis team prevailed over Emmanuel for a 5-4 victory on Friday afternoon in conference play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles: 

• At the No.1 doubles Polina Novachuk and Cynthia Carrier grabbed the 8-4 victory for the Hawks while teammates, Victoria Smolchenkova and Hanna Tarlouskaya secured the No.2 doubles match 8-7(9-3) over the Lions. 
• Angelique Gouin and Lenka Styblova fell short 8-2 at the third doubles match.

In Singles:

• With a 2-1 lead heading into singles play, Hanna Tarlouskaya picked up the No.3 singles match 6-4, 6-2 before Polina Novachuk fell short at the No.1 singles in a 4-6, 6-1 6-4 battle.
• Lenka Styblova grabbed the No.5 singles for the Hawks with a 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (7-3) tiebreaker.
• Cynthia Carrier was unable to secure the No.2 singles match 6-2, 6-2.
• Victoria Smolchenkova fell short 6-2, 7-6 (9-7) in the fourth singles match.
• With both teams tied 4-4, it was Angelique Gouin at the number six singles position that put Chowan over Emmanuel 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to secure the final score 5-4 for the Hawks.
