Box Score MURFREESBORO, N.C.- The Chowan Women's Tennis team grabbed a 7-2 win over Conference Carolinas Tournament Champion Mount Olive on Tuesday evening. The Hawks advance to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In Doubles: 

• The Hawks took a strong 3-0 lead over the Trojans. Polina Novachuk/ Cynthia Carrier and Hanna Tarlouskaya/ Victoria Smolchenkova grabbed a 8-3 win at the No.1 and No.2 doubles respectively. 
• Lenka Styblova and Angelique Gouin def the No. 3 doubles with a clean 8-0 for the Hawks. 

In Singles: 

• Polina Novachuk fought for the No. 1 singles match 7-5, 2-6, 10-6 while Cynthia Carrier dropped 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 2 singles position. 
• Victoria Smolchenkova def. her opponent 8-5 at the No. 3 singles before Hanna Tarlouskaya picked up the 6-3, 6-0 victory at the No. 4. 
• Lenka Styblova fell short 8-4 to the Trojans at the fifth singles match before Angelique Gouin recovered for the Blue and White with a 6-2, 6-0 win at the No. 6.

UP NEXT 
Chowan will host Meredith College on Wednesday, February 28 in a make up contest. Match time set for 3:00pm.
