HAWKS FLYING ALL OVER
Chowan continued their high scoring attack as the Hawks moved to 41.3 points per game with 56 points against Lincoln on Saturday. Chowan is 5-4 on the season and 5-2 against Division II opponents.
The Hawks offensively, lead the CIAA in yards per game with 505.4 yards with the second most passing (283.8, behind Bowie State) and second most rushing (221.7, behind Virginia Union). Chowan leads the league in first downs per contest at 25.0 per game.
Bryce Witt is third in the NCAA in total offense with 335.0 yards per game in nine games. Witt sits behind Bowie State's Amir Hall at 361.2 yards, mainly through the air. Witt sits tied for ninth in the NCAA with 26 passing touchdowns and fifth in points responsible for with 202 points with 33 total touchdowns (26 pass, 7 rush).
Tyrell Freeman is 14th in the country in rushing yards with a single season best 1,097 rushing yards and 11th in the country in rush yards per game at 121.9 per outing.
George Parker tied the single season record for most interceptions in a season with his fifth against Lincoln.
CAGING THE BEARS
Shaw enters the contest with a 5-4 overall record after starting the season with a 1-4 record. The Bears average 70.9 yards per game on the ground and 231.4 yards through the air.
Devon Hunt leads the Bears defensively with 94 total tackles and 15.5 tackles for loss.
