WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Chowan Men's and Women's Swim team dropped their 2018 season opener in a dual meet against Howard on Saturday afternoon.

INSIDE THE LANES

200 Medley Relay

For the Women:
Chowan took third, fourth and fifth in the event with a time of 1:55.11, 2:00.07, and 2:03.42 respectively.

On the A team, Sabrine Todd, AnnMarie Spiker, Jasmine Gibson, and Grace Arredondo comprised of the relay.

Ashley Hernandez, Sarah Hull, Megan Reid, and SheAyre Bowles touched the wall for fourth place on the B team.

Taylor Bitting, Jeleah Delancy, Erin Garza and Anquience Wheeler made up the C team to place fifth.

For the Men:
The Hawks claimed third place with Taylor Woodard, Lucas Pels, Joshua Weidner and James Cameron posting a 1:41.96 relay time.

1000 Free

For the Women:
Marissa Mann claimed first place in the event with a time of 12:05.79, while teammate Keitra Lloyd took third after posting a 12:19.85 for Chowan.

For the Men:
Shaine Olmstead placed second with an 11:00.11 meet time. Donald Bowman finished the race in third place after recording an 11:26.06 for the Blue and White.

200 Free

For the Women:
Jasmine Gibson took second place with a time of 2:09.51. Anquience Wheeler and Erin Garza finished fourth and fifth touching the wall at 2:11.29 and 2:14.94 respectively.

For the Men:
Justin Lough touched the wall at 1:51.37 to take third place for the Hawks. Trace Austin finished the event with a time of 1:56.93 for fifth place.

100 Backstroke
For the Women:
Sabrine Todd grabbed a second place finish with a time of 1:03.17.

Ashley Hernandez finished third after posting a 1:04.29 while teammate Taylor Bitting took sixth.

For the Men:
Taylor Woodard posted a 58.80 for the Hawks to claim second place.

James Cameron and Kyle Sheridan placed third and fifth respectively.

100 Breaststroke

For the Women:
AnnMarie Spiker was the top finisher for the Hawks with a time of 1:10.01 to finish third overall.

Jeleah Delancy and Sarah Hull finished fourth and fifth respectively.

For the Men:
Lucas Pels touched the wall in 1:04.35 to finish in second for Chowan.

Jordan Walker also competed for the Hawks finishing in fifth place.

200 Butterfly

For the Women:
Chowan took second, third and fourth place with Jasmine Gibson, Marissa Mann and Keitra Lloyd. Gibson recorded a 2:29.57 event time for the Hawks. Mann finished with a time of 2:31.20 with Lloyd touching at 2:35.85.

For the Men:
Donald Bowman secured second place with a 2:13.10 while teammate Joshua Weidner posted a 2:14.64 for third place.

Shaine Olmstead also competed for the Hawks recording a 2:16.79 in the event.

50 Free

For the Women:
SheAyre Bowles finished third in the event with a time of 26.73.  Grace Arredondo and Sarah Hull finished fourth and sixth.

For the Men:
James Cameron took fifth place after posting a 23.18 for the Hawks.

Austin Lawson and Jordan Walker placed sixth and seventh respectively.

100 Free

For the Women:
SheAyre Bowles touched the wall at 59.21 to finish third overall.  Grace Arredondo and Erin Garza touched at fourth and sixth.

For the Men:
Justin Lough placed third after posting a 50.02 event time.

Trace Austin and Jordan Walker finished fifth and sixth respectively.

200 Backstroke

For the Women:
Ashley Hernandez and Sabrine Todd finished second and third overall with times of 2:21.65 and 2:25.56.

For the Men:
Taylor Woodard posted a 2:15.13 for second place overall, while Donald Bowman took fourth 2:28.86.

200 Breaststroke

For the Women:
AnnMarie Spiker secured the top spot after posting a 2:34.74 for the Hawks. Jeleah Delancy clocked a time of 2:53.18.

For the Men:
Lucas Pels took home second place with a time of 2:20.27.

Joshua Weidner posted a 2:44.18 to take fourth place overall.

500 Free

For the Women:
Anquience Wheeler up a runner-up finish with a time of 5:52.65.  Keitra Lloyd touched at 6:01.02 for a third place finish.

For the Men:
Justin Lough recorded a 5:17.81 event time to place second.

Shaine Olmstead posted a 5:25.61 for a third place finish.

100 Butterfly

For the Women:
With a 1:04.28 time finish, Jasmine Gibson placed third for the Hawks.

Megan Reid and Taylor Bitting finished fifth and sixth respectively.

For the Men:
Joshua Weidner picked up the second place finish, touching the wall at 56.57.

Close behind was teammate, Trace Austin who took third with a 57.12 time finish.

200 IM

For the Women:
AnnMarie Spiker was the top finisher for the Hawks with a time of 2:25.73.

Erin Garza took fourth with a 2:27.91 time.

For the Men:
The Hawks grabbed the first and second place finish with Lucas Pels and Kyle Sheridan.

200 Free Relay

For the Women:
Chowan 'A' relay finished second touching the wall at 1:46.34 with Ashley Hernandez, Grace Arredondo Jeleah Delancy and SheAyre Bowles.

For the Men:
The Hawks 'A' team posted a 1:34.54 time with Taylor Woodard, Justin Lough, Shaine Olmstead and James Cameron.
