MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University men's and women's lacrosse teams are set to host Conference Carolinas matches on Saturday, March 25th. The men's lacrosse team lead the day off with a 1:00pm match against Emmanuel College. The women will host Belmont-Abbey College at 3:00pm. Both matches will be hosted at Hawks Field.
The men's lacrosse team, in their inaugural season, sits at 0-7 overall and 0-1 in conference play. They are coming off a 23-11 loss to Pfeiffer University on March 18th.
Noah Holloway and
Anthony Alfonso, Jr. scored three goals each in the loss.
John Crandall picked up 11 stops in goal. Emmanuel College enters the match at 0-7 overall and 0-2 in the league.
The women's lacrosse enters Saturday's match up at 3-5 overall and 2-3 in Conference Carolinas play. They are coming off a 20-3 win over Montreat College in non-conference play.
Heather Orell posted a match-high six goals while
Alexandria Hammonds had five scores, two assists, and 11 draw controls.
Jennifer Caird posted five scores in the win. Belmont-Abbey enters Saturday's match up at 5-5 overall and 4-1 in league play.
