Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC - The Chowan University men's lacrosse team suffered a 23-11 loss at the hands of Pfeiffer University. The Hawks fall to 0-7 overall and 0-1 in the Conference Carolinas play. The Falcons improved their overall record 3-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Chowan got on the board first just 1:02 seconds into game when
Noah Holloway found the back of the net. Midfielder
Nick Lavoy was credited with the assist, his first of five in the game. The Falcons matched the Hawks at 1-1 at the 10:14 mark of the first period and took the lead at the 5:55 with a score by Kyle Barna.
Anthony Alfonso, Jr. tied the game 2-2 at the 3:51 mark of the first period. The Falcons scored two goals to wrap up the first period with a 4-2 lead. They would not relinquish the lead again and rolled to the 23-11 win over the Hawks.
Alphonso and Holloway scored three goals each. Lavoy added two goals and five assists.
Ivor Corlette added two goals and
Jacob Mitchell added a score.
John Crandall started in goal for the Hawks. He tallied 11 saves and allowed 16 goals. He played 45:00 minutes in the net before being replaced by
Markis Harrison. Harrison gave up seven goals and had three saves.
The Hawks will hit the field again when they play host to Emmanuel College on March 25th in a 1:00pm Conference Carolinas match.
