MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University men's lacrosse team battled with Young Harris in Conference Carolinas home action on Saturday afternoon but two late and quick strikes by the Mountain Lions lifted them to a 14-13 win over the home-standing Hawks.
Today's matchup marked Senior Day for the Hawks, honoring Deondre Brown, Kani Ellis, Desmond Stukes, and Ronoldo Williams for their contributions to the program.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Chowan took an 8-4 lead into the halftime break after Reed Low posted three first half goals. Jacob Malia, Owen Williams, Justin Hill, Seth Mackenzie, and Scott Cathcart added a score each in the first half. Young Harris bounced back to outscore the Hawks 9-5 in the second half. After being all tied at 12, Mackenzie scored at the 1:59 mark of the 4th period on an assist from Low to take a 13-12 lead. With :38 ticks on the clock, Young Harris' Kieran Isbister found the back of the net to knot the game at 13-13. After winning the subsequent faceoff, Young Harris called a timeout and set up a play that allowed Hunter Stagg to score the game winner with :05 in regulation.
Low ended the day with five goals while Mackenzie netted three scores. Jacob Malia had two scores and Owen Williams had a goal and three assists. Rocco Smith picked up nine saves in the frame after playing all four periods in goal.

The Hawks will travel to Belmont Abbey in their next match on April 12th. They will close out the year on April 17th at home against Barton College in a 4:00pm duel.
