BUIES CREEK, NC- The Chowan University women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Campbell University on Thursday evening. The Hawks drop 1-1 on the season with the loss while the Camels move to 2-1 overall.

In doubles play, Polina Novachuk and Victoria Smolchenkova fell 6-3 to Alexandra Andrivot and Isabel Boada in number one doubles play to give the Camels an early edge. Cynthia Carrier and Angelique Gouin fell 6-3 to Alexandra Nicoara and Pauline Roustan in number two doubles. In the third seeded doubles play, Franca Pacelli and Roxana Daneshjoo fell 6-2, to Lea Cutura and Nina Asanin securing the doubles win for the Camels.

In Singles play, Novachuk lost to Andrivot 6-3, 6-3, while Smolchenkova fell to Cutura 6-3, 6-4 in the number two singles. Carrier defeated Nicoara 6-1,6-2 in the number three match. In the number four singles, Gouin fell 6-2, 6-2 to Roustan. Isabel Boada handed Anna Makhneva a 6-1, 6-0 in the fifth singles. In the number six singles, Daneshjoo fell 6-2, 7-5 to Asanin.

The Hawks return to action on Feburary 14^th when they take on Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina.
