WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Chowan Swimming team produced strong swims as the Hawks competed against Division I programs Howard and George Washington in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.

200 yd Medley Relay
Chowan finished fourth with a time of 1:54.85. Julia Chmielewska, AnnMarie Spiker, Jasmine Gibson, and Grace Arredondo comprised the relay.
200 yd Free
Kjahna O finished third in the event with a season best time of 2:01.00.
Keitra Lloyd finished sixth with a time of 2:09.00
200 yd IM
AnnMarie Spiker grabbed a sixth place finish touching the wall at 2:24.86. Spiker's time was fifth best in program history.
Sarah Hull finished with a time of 2:45.70.
50 yd Free
SheAyre Bowles finished fifth while teammate Ashley Hernandez finished sixth touching the wall at 26.35 and 26.63 respectively.
100 yd Butterfly
Megan Reid and Jasmine Gibson finished fifth and sixth respectively with times of 1:02.79 and personal best time of 1:03.18.
100 yd Free
Grace Arredondo finished in the top-five with a fourth place finish touching the wall at 56.44. SheAyre Bowles finished eighth with a time of 59.41.
500 yd Free
Kjahna O touched the wall second in the event with a time of 5:29.31.
Keitra Lloyd finished fifth.
200 yd Free Relay
The Hawks finished third in the relay with a time of 1:43.19. Julia Chmielewska, Ashley Hernandez, Jasmine Gibson, and Megan Reid competed for the Hawks.
100 yd Backstroke
Julia Chmielewska finished second while teammate Ashley Hernandez finished third in the event. Chmielewska touched at 1:00.26 while Hernandez touched at 1:05.23.
100 yd Breaststroke
The Hawks finished 4-6 in the event. AnnMarie Spiker was the top swimmer in the event for CU with a school record time of 1:13.08. MacKenzie Lucy finished fifth with a time of 1:14.62 (fifth best in program history). Sarah Hull rounded out the group with a time of 1:21.09.
400 yd Free Relay
Chowan grabbed another second place finish in the relay with a time of 3:48.04. Keitra Lloyd, Kjahna O, SheAyre Bowles and Grace Arredondo swam for the Hawks.
UP NEXT
Chowan travels to Gaffney, S.C. and then Misenheimer, N.C. to compete in two dual meets on October 27 and October 28.
