HAMPTON, VA - The Chowan University women's tennis team fell to Hampton University 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon, and slipped to 16-4 on the season after the loss. 

The Pirates took two out of three doubles matches on the afternoon to earn their first point using the NCAA Division I scoring system.

Winning the lone singles match for Chowan, Anna Makhneva took down Steffy Paez at the #5 position in a third set super tiebreaker for a final score of 6-1, 3-6 (13-11).

The Hawks look to regroup on Saturday afternoon when they host Longwood University at the Rose Family Tennis Complex. Match time is scheduled for 1:00pm.
