HILTON HEAD, SC- The Chowan University women's tennis team dropped their second match of the season on Thursday morning to nationally ranked regional foe Indiana University of Pennsylvania by a score of 8-1. IUP came into the match as the #38 ranked team in Division II and ranked #2 in the Atlantic Region. Chowan is ranked #7 in the region. The loss broke the Hawks' seven match win streak. 

Cynthia Carrier picked up the lone victory for the Hawks in the loss, after topping Sophie Butland 6-3, 6-3 in singles competition.

Chowan slips to 10-2 after Thursday's loss.  They next play on Friday against Northwood University.
