SPARTANBURG, SC- The Chowan University women's swim team dropped a 117-111 decision in a dual meet against Converse College on Saturday afternoon.

Kenya McCray, and
SheAyre Bowles took home a first place finish in the 200 yard medley. The team posted a winning time of 1:53.78 to finish in first place in the three-team field. In the 1000 yard freestyle, Lloyd led the three-swimmer field after finishing with a time of 11:56.98. O kept the streak alive in the 200 yard freestyle with a first place finish. She posted a winning time of 2:00.59. Chmielewska built on the momentum in the 100 yard backstroke. She completed the event in 1:00.52; leading the field of three.
Sarah Hull earned two points for the Hawks after finishing the 100 yard breaststroke in 1:22.87. She finished in fourth place in the event. In the 200 yard butterfly,
Keitra Lloyd finished in second place with a time of 2:30.33. McCray and Bowles dominated the 50 yard freestyle. McCray posted a winning time of 25.19 followed by Bowles in second place with a time of 25.74.
The Hawks won the top two sports in the 100 yard freestyle. O led the field with a time of 56.12 with Bowles finishing second at the 57.03 mark. Chmielewska grabbed a first place finish in the 200 yard backstroke. She completed the event in 2:18.55. Hull grabbed a fourth place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke. She scored two points for the Hawks after completing the event in 2:57.65.
Lloyd recorded a second place finish in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:54.91. McCray took home second place in the 100 yard butterfly. She finished at the 1:00.86 mark.
Chmielewska took home a first place finish in the 200 yard IM. She finished the event with a winning time of 2:16.03. Hull posted a time of 2:54.10. The Hawks rounded out the meet with the 200 yard freestyle relay. Lloyd, Bowles, O, and McCray posted a time of 1:42.42 for the Chowan Blue and White.
Chowan returns to action on November 18
th when the Hawks compete against UNC-Pembroke. Start time is slated for 4pm in the Bynum Brown Aquatic Center.
